Semi-Permanent Make up

My name is Hannah Phillips, I am a Semi Permanent Make-Up artist. I use a cosmetic technique called Micropigmentation which is a form of tattooing a specifically selected pigment colour into the upper layers of the skin. We use it to enhance eyebrows, eyeliner and lips.

What are the benefits of Semi-Permanent Make-Up?

  • Enhancing natural features and give definition
  • Boosting confidence
  • Helping with symmetry or replace loss or a reduction of hair
  • Replacing daily make up routines
  • Enabling smudge free exercise and swimming
  • Custom blending colours to each client

The process..

Once you have booked in for your treatment there will be a consultation form and patch test to check for any medical history that could be relevant and to manage any possible contraindications.

Each treatment is broken down into two sessions, the initial session is the main treatment where there is time allocated to technically measure the pre draw before colour is implanted in the upper layers of the skin using a tattoo machine and a single use needle cartridge.

After the initial treatment the aftercare procedures will be fully explained and after care notes and products provided. Depending on skin type it will take 5-10 days for the skin to heal.

For 5-7 days post treatment you may get some swelling, itchiness, redness, flaking etc. You must avoid any excessive exercise /gym/ sauna or any other activity that would make you sweat. You must not wear any make up on the area and you must keep it clean with cool boiled water and apply the tonic and or balm provided.

The second treatment needs to be carried out between 6-12 weeks of the original treatment date.

After 12-24 months you will need a colour boost to keep the colour from fading out too much. If the colour and shape are no longer visible a new treatment will be advised.

The cost is split into 3 payments: for example - Hairstroke brows @ £280

Payment 1 - £50 deposit on booking

Payment 2 - £180 at initial treatment appointment

Payment 3 - £50 at top up.

Safety..

I am fully insured, qualified and licenced. My environment is completely safe, clean and secure and all treatments are conducted in my enclosed, private studio in Bruton, Somerset.

FAQ's

How long does it last?

Skin type, lifestyle and after care can play a big part in how long the colour stays in the skin. It can be between 1-5 years but will fade over time and usually needs a top up between 12-24 months after the last treatment.

Does it hurt?

There may be slight scratching sensation and/or a little discomfort, but it shouldn't be painful.

How long does it take?

2-3 hours will be allocated for a for a full treatment, 1.5-2 hours for colour boosts.

Can you have PMU when pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. The body is out of hormonal balance and needs to be able to heal well so you will need to wait 12 weeks post giving birth and stop breastfeeding 48 hours post treatment.

How long will it take for my skin to heal?

If all after care advice is followed it will take between 5-10 days depending on skin type. Full aftercare details and products will be provided.
